CENTRAL, S.C. - Seniors Erika Noblett and Alex Weber both earned 6-0, 6-0 shutouts as the Crusader women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory at Southern Wesleyan this afternoon. The win puts The Abbey at 9-10 on the season, with a 5-2 Conference Carolinas record. The Warriors are now 5-8 on the season, and 2-4 in conference play.
Belmont Abbey got off to strong start, winning two of the three doubles matches, highlighted by an 8-1 win at #3 by Noblett and Morgan Zahnd. The duo now holds a 4-1 conference record.
Tegan McNamara got singles play off to a good start, taking a fairly quick 6-2, 6-2 victory. Weber at #5, and Noblett at #6 both earned 6-0, 6-0 shutouts. It was Noblett's second shutout in a row and third of the season.
Belmont Abbey will compete at North Greenville University tomorrow.
