DUE WEST, SC - The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team lost a 6-3 contest at Erskine today. The Crusaders moved to 8-10 on the year and 2-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Erskine is now 8-6 on the season and 5-2 against conference opponents.
#1 singles gave the Abbey a rare situation when Aisiri Jandyala's opponent retired during the second set. Jandyala was up 7-5, 3-0 when that happened. She also saved three set points in the first set. Jandyala later teamed up with Teagan McNamara to get an 8-1 win at #2 doubles.
Erika Noblett also got a singles win, with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the #6 spot. Rachele Subik and Alex Weber forced a tiebreaker at #3 doubles.
