BELMONT, N.C. --  Aisiri Jandyala and Teagan McNamara combined for an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles, but it was the Crusaders' only win in an 8-1 women's tennis decision against Anderson Friday at the Reidy Tennis Center.

Anderson (7-2) took the remaining doubles matches and all six singles matches for the final results.

"Despite a fantastic comeback effort for us at No. 3 doubles today that fell just short, and a solid 8-3 win at the No. 2 flight, Anderson put us behind early in the match," Head Coach Michael Salomon said. "We gave a solid effort in singles, but hats off the Anderson as they played a complete match all the way through their lineup to close us out. We learned a lot today as a team about where we need to go next, and what it will take to get there. We're really looking forward to taking those next steps tomorrow against Limestone."

Belmont Abbey returns to action tomorrow with a Conference Carolinas match against the Saints. The start time is 1:30 p.m.
