BELMONT, NC – The Belmont Abbey women's tennis program fell to Emmanuel College in a nail biting 4-5 contest and a 0-9 against Pfeiffer University. The losses moved the Crusaders to 7-17 overall and 4-7 in the conference. The Lions improve to 9-16 overall and 4-7 in the conference and the Falcons improved to 11-5-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play.
In match one, against Emmanuel, the Crusaders would fall behind 1-2 after doubles action as only Erika Noblett and Brylee Seitz in the number 3 flight would win. They would defeat Abi Muesse and Kaylee Kirby 8-1. Kiersten Cox and Rachel Subik would battle against Chloe O'Conner and Katharina Kiderlen in a close 7-8 (4) loss.
The Crusaders were able to claim three of six singles and would fall short for the win. Cox, Subik, and Noblett would all claim victories in two sets. Cox would defeat Kiderlen 6-2, 7-6 (5) while Noblett would defeat Claudia Morris 6-2, 6-4. Subik would not give up a point as she won 6-0, 6-0 against Muesse.
In match two against Pfeiffer, the Crusaders would drop all nine matches. Lillie Mehan and Defrench would drop a close 4-8 match against Olivia Nelms and Mara Hofstetter in flight 2.
