Women's Tennis Falls to North Greenville, 6-3

TIGERVILLE, SC - North Greenville claimed victories in five of six singles matches, as NGU defeated Belmont Abbey, 6-3, in a Conference Carolinas tennis match, Saturday afternoon at the Vance Tennis Complex in Tigerville, SC. With the win North Greenville improves to 6-6 overall, and 5-0 in conference, while the Crusaders fall to 5-14, 2-5 in league play.

Belmont Abbey opened up the match by earning victories in two of three matches in doubles' play. At #2 flight, Kiersten Cox and Rachele Subik claimed victory in a close match against Maria Vargas and Kylie Samdusky, 8-6. Brylee Seitz and Erika Norblett also won a close match defeating Graysen Elms and Fernanda Santos de Lucca, 8-7 (5).

Crusader sophomore Alex Weber earned the lone BAC victory in singles play in come-from-behind fashion over Maria Vargas. Weber dropped the opening set, 0-6 then, took the next two sets, 6-3 and 15-13.

Belmont Abbey returns to action Saturday, April 9, against Conference Carolinas foe, King University at the Michael Reidy Tennis Center on the campus of Belmont Abbey College. First serve is at 1 p.m.
