Women's Tennis Falls to Newberry, 6-3

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC- Newberry clamed victories in each of the top four singles flights, as the Wolves defeated Belmont Abbey 6-3, Monday afternoon at Chaplin Park Tennis Center in Hilton Head. The Crusaders falls to 5-8 overall, while Newberry improves to 14-2.

Belmont Abbey took wins in #5 and #6 singles. Rachele Subik won in straight sets, defeating Rebeca Martinez 6-1, 7-5. Lillie Mehan took care of her opponent in easy fashion, defeating Sierra Whaley, 6-0, 6-0.

Subik would pair with Kiersten Cox in doubles, defeating Veronika Viegas and Rebeca Martinez, 8-4.

The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday against Edinboro in Hilton Head, SC.
