CENTRAL, SC- Southern Wesleyan (SWU) took four of six matches in singles' competition, as the Warriors defeated Belmont Abbey, 6-3, in a Conference Carolinas match, Thursday afternoon at the Rev. Leroy C. Cox Tennis Complex on the campus of Southern Wesleyan University. SWU improves to 4-7 overall, and 3-1 in Conference Carolinas, while Belmont Abbey falls to 5-11 overall, 2-3 in league play.
Freshman Darian DeFrench went 1-0 on the afternoon after a come-from-behind three-set victory over Jennifer Ball, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Freshman Teagan McNamara claimed a victory in #1 flight singles with a 7-6, 6-1 straight set victory over Aimee Dorley.
Belmont Abbey returns to action on Friday at 2:00 PM at home against Erskine.
