Men's Volleyball Ties Program Record With 11th Victory In 3-2 Win At Barton

The Belmont Abbey men's volleyball team tied the program record with its 11th victory of the season with a 3-2 win at Barton this evening. Belmont Abbey moves to 11-10 overall and 7-6 in league play as it won by scores of 26-28, 25-23, 25-23, 23-25 and 15-11. Barton saw it seven match Conference Carolinas winning streak come to an end as the Bulldogs are now 11-15 overall and 9-7 in league play.

Belmont Abbey posts its 11th victory, tying the record of the 2013 team, the inaugural season. The seventh conference win adds to the school record.

The Crusaders are now 3-2 in five set matches this season.

The Crusaders hit .222 as Nolan Albrecht knocked down 20 kills. Anthony Pippen added 11. Justin Snyder and Dustin Buell added six each. Derek Sullivan handed out 40 assists. Pippen and Albrecht both had one service ace.

Albrecht and Robert Valentine both led the Crusaders with 14 digs each. Brennan Beyner totaled six.

At the net, Albrecht and Pippen had one block solo, with Pippen and Snyder each adding six block assists. Buell led all players with eight block assists. Sullivan and Beyner both had four. 

The Crusaders will attempt for their 12th victory tomorrow at Mount Olive. First serve is 7:00.
