Box Score 2 The Belmont Abbey men's volleyball team won twice this afternoon in Charleston, West Virginia, defeating Coker 3-2 and besting Charleston 3-1. Belmont Abbey improves to 8-8 as turned a three match losing streak into a two match winning streak.
In the opening match of the day, the Crusaders defeated Coker 25-19, 20-25, 25-23, 18-25 and 15-6.
Nolan Albrecht hit a robust .314 as he led the way with 15 kills on 35 attacks with just four errors. Anthony Pippen added ten kills. The Crusaders hit .277 for the match as every player but one recorded at least one kill. Derek Sullivan handed out 39 assists with Albrecht adding a pair.
Justin Synder recorded four service aces as Belmont Abbey totaled 11 in the match. Pippen added three with Dustin Buell adding two.
Defensively, Albrecht's ten digs led the Crusaders, with Pippen adding nine. Libero David Radozsweski posted seven. Snyder, Sullivan and Pippen each had two block assists.
In the win over Charleston (25-19, 23-25, 25-13 and 25-14), Belmont Abbey's offense recorded a .345 attack as Albrecht's 12 kills led the way. Pippen totaled 11 as he hit .348 for the match. Sullivan's 32 assists was a match high. Pippen handed out three. Sullivan, Snyder and Buell each had three service aces.
Robert Valentine's 12 digs is a new career-high, with Sullivan adding ten. Snyder and Buell each had four block assists with Sullivan and Pippen adding three each.
