The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team opened Conference Carolinas play with a 9-0 loss this afternoon at Erskine.

Belmont Abbey forfeited at number three doubles as well as number six singles. The Flying fleet won four of the five matches in straight sets with the exception of number three singles.

There, Erika Noblett took the first set 6-1 before falling in the second 7-5. She then lost the ten point third set tiebreaker by a 10-6 score.

Belmont Abbey is back in action twice Tuesday as it goes on the road to face GRU Augusta and USC Aiken.
