Belmont Abbey outside hitter Nolan Albrecht tied for the match high with 17 kills in the Crusaders 3-1 loss to the visiting New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders this evening inside the Wheeler Center. Set scores were 25-22, 18-25, 25-18 and 25-12. NJIT improves to 4-2, while the Abbey dips to 2-4.

Albrecht hit .312 as he smacked down 17 kills on 32 attacks with seven errors. He added nine digs and a block assist. Brennan Beyner and Anthony Pippen both added eight kills. Derek Sullivan handed out 36 assists. The Crusaders hit .206 for the match.

Defensively, Albrecht and Jon Lowenhagen both finished with nine digs with Beyner adding seven. At the net, Dustin Buell totaled two block solos and two block assists.

Belmont Abbey is back in action Tuesday night when it hosts Pfeiffer at 7:00.
