The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team lost to the visiting University of Mount Olive Trojans by a 9-0 score this afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center. Mount Olive improves to 10-6 overall and 5-4 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey slips to 1-14 overall and 0-6 in league play.
Five of the six singles matches were decided in two sets, but the Crusaders nearly won at number two singles as Katharine Miller won the first set 7-5, but lost 6-1 in the second to force a ten point tiebreaker, which Francesca Ceppi won, 10-3.
The Crusaders are back in action Thursday at Lees-McRae.
