The Belmont Abbey men's volleyball team was swept at Barton in a Conference Carolinas matchup this evening inside Wilson Gymnasium. Barton improves to 10-15 overall and 6-6 in Conference Carolinas as it won by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-21. Belmont Abbey falls to 3-23 overall and 1-11 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey plays its final road match Saturday afternoon at 2:00 when taking on Mount Olive.

The Crusaders hit .130 as Dane Hunsicker and Brennan Beyner both led the offense with five kills. Spencer Fournell and Dustin Buell added three each. Derek Sullivan handed out 17 of the Abbey's 20 assists. Fournell, Robert Nixon and Jon Lowenhagen each had one. Eddie Pennington and Evan Young both had a service ace.

Defensively, Nixon's eight digs was a team high, with Brandon Kimbrell adding six. Belmont Abbey dominated the net as Young and Sullivan both had four block assists with Buell adding three. Beyner and Fournell had two each.
