Belmont Abbey freshman Connor Sellars led all players with six goals, but Limestone outscored the Crusaders 9-6 in the second half after a 6-6 halftime stalemate as the nationally second ranked and top-seeded Saints claimed a 15-11 win in the semifinal round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. Limestone advances to Sunday's championship as it moves to 13-1, while the Crusaders, which have two regular season games remaining, is now 9-6.

Sellars scored six goals on nine shots and also had six ground balls and a caused turnover. Daniel Marshall added three goals and Scotty Steele netted a pair.

Dan Morrissey posted two assists, while Marshall, Sellars, Joey McGinley and Tanner Scharr all had one.

Belmont Abbey scored three of the game's first four goals, two from Steele, to take the early lead, but Limestone scored four unanswered to surge ahead 5-3.

The Crusaders came right back, getting a man-down goal from Marshall, followed by an even strength marker from Sellars, to deadlock the game at five. After Corey Rich moved Limestone back ahead with 2:40 to play in the first half, Sellars knotted the game at six just 31 seconds later to send the two teams into the break tied at six.

With lightning in the area, the halftime took longer than usual, as the two teams did not begin the second half until 6:00 p.m. After the delay of almost an hour, the Saints opened the third by seizing command of the game by scoring the first three goals to move ahead by three.

After Sellars stopped the momentum with a goal at the 10:00 mark of the third, a goal that cut the Limestone lead to 9-7, the Saints scored three unanswered to stretch their lead to 12-7.

Sellars closed the third and opened the fourth with goals to trim the deficit to 12-9, but Limestone scored three of the last five goals to end the game.
