Belmont Abbey freshman Nolan Albrecht led the Crusaders with 13 kills as the men's volleyball team defeated the visiting Barton Bulldogs 3-1 this evening at the Wheeler Center. Scores were 25-16, 25-12, 21-25 and 25-18. The Abbey improves to 10-17 overall and 4-9 in Conference Carolinas, while the Bulldogs drop to 1-18 overall and 1-12 in league play.

The Crusaders hit .261 as Albrecht led the way with 13 kills and ten digs. Dustin Buell and Brandon Kimbrell both added nine and Griffin O'Camb contributed eight. Derek Sullivan handed out 34 assists.

Defensively, Aaron DeKalb led the way with 16 digs as the Crusaders recorded 49 on the night. Buell totaled three block assists and a block solo, while Sullivan added two block assists and one solo.
