Box Score Dan Morrissey and Joey McGinley both led Belmont Abbey with
three goals each, but Limestone used a balanced effort to advance
to the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship match with an
11-6 win this afternoon in the semifinal round. Limestone improves
to 13-1, while the Abbey falls to 5-9.
Morrissey and McGinley both totaled three goals, while Brendan
Rogers and Tanner Scharr both had one assist each.
Limestone led 11-3 at the half but the Crusaders outscored the
Saints 3-0 in the second half, scoring twice in the third quarter
and one more in the fourth.
Jon Wolcott led the Abbey with two caused turnovers and three
ground balls. Merrick Reiland got the start in goal and made two
saves, while Brett Lawless worked the final 50 minutes and made
five saves.
