Belmont Abbey senior forward Paula Regalado sank all nine of her field goal attempts and both of her free throw attempts to score a game-high 20 points, and sophomore guard Kelsey Long hit three free throws in the final 26 seconds to hand North Greenville just its second conference loss with a 66-61 win this evening. The win evens the Abbey's record to 9-9 overall and 5-4 in Conference Carolinas, while North Greenville drops to 13-5 overall and 8-2 in Conference Carolinas.

The Abbey trailed 34-30 at the half but outscored North Greenville 35-27 in the final two minutes, seizing control of the game on a short jumper by Regalado with 3:24 left to put the Crusaders ahead to stay. After North Greenville had five-straight misses from the field and the free throw line, three free throws and two shots from the field, Noel Bullock drained a pair of free throws with 1:43 left to push the lead to four.

18 seconds later, Christina Carlis cut the Abbey's lead to 63-61, but North Greenville did not score again. On the Abbey's next trip down the floor, Caitlyn Ranson missed a three-pointer, but Regalado grabbed her seventh rebound of the game and called timeout. Coming out of the stoppage, the Abbey turned the ball over with 57 seconds left to give North Greenville another chance to tie or take the lead, but a missed shot was grabbed by Regalado. Long was eventually fouled with 26 seconds left, and her two free throws found the back of the net to widen the cushion to four.

North Greenville called timeout, and Karly Stache's three-pointer was off target, but grabbed by North Greenville's Aliyah Stokes, who promptly turned the ball over with five seconds left.

With three seconds left, Long was fouled, and she missed the first but made the second to seal the 66-61 win.

In the first half the Abbey led 20-19 with 7:51 to go, but North Greenville responded with a 16-10 run to close the half to enjoy a 34-30 halftime edge.

North Greenville opened the final stanza on a 10-5 jaunt to claim its largest lead of the contest, nine points, at 44-35 with just under five minutes gone by. The Crusaders answered by scoring the next 13 points to reclaim a three-point lead at 47-44 with 12:02 to go.

The advantage grew to as high as six at 52-46 on another jumper by Regalado with 9:36 to play, but North Greenville embarked on a 10-2 run to move back in front 56-54 with 6:12 to go. The two teams traded baskets to tie the game at 59, but a jumper by Regalado a minute-and-a-half later put the Crusaders ahead for good.

Regalado fashioned the first perfect shooting night of her career as her 20 points led all scorers. She added eight rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes. Bullock and Long both added 10 points apiece. Belmont Abbey shot 48.9 percent (23-47) from the floor and were successful on six of 17 attempts from beyond the arc (35.3 percent). North Greenville was led by Carlis's 14 points on six of 11 shooting from the field. She was the only North Greenville player to reach double figures.
