    The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team, ranked #16 in the nation,
put home a goal in each half to defeat Pfeiffer University 2-0 in
Conference Carolinas women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
The victory keeps the Crusaders unbeaten at 12-0, 7-0 in league
play. The loss sends the Lady Falcons to 6-5, 3-2.
Scoreless for the first 20 minutes of play, Belmont Abbey's
Kristin Foster put the hosts on the board in the 21st minute. After
a Pfeiffer foul, Foster took the free kick and scored from about 25
yards out for the 1-0 lead. At the 79th minute, Ananda Gebreyesus
added an insurance tally by beating Lady Falcon goal keeper Jamie
Alcala on a 1-on-1 break. 
Belmont Abbey had control for much of the match out shooting
Pfeiffer 11-3 overall, 6-1 on goal. The Crusaders had eight corner
attempts while the Lady Falcons didn't get any opportunities. Anna
Donaldson had to stop just one shot in the shutout win in net.
The Abbey is back in action Monday afternoon at 4:00 when it
hosts Lenoir-Rhyne in a key region matchup.
