INDIANAPOLIS — The Belmont Abbey women's soccer was listed as one of the teams under consideration in the first official regional rankings released by the NCAA Wednesday afternoon.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committees. The first set of rankings the institutions are listed alphabetically.
The Crusaders enter the rankings with a 12-4-1 overall record and 10-1-1 record in Conference Carolinas play having already clinched the Northwest Division title and a Top 4 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Belmont Abbey is one of two Conference Carolinas programs listed in the rankings along with Francis Marion.
The Abbey closes the regular season on the road Friday afternoon at Erskine.
The NCAA rankings will come out again on November 5 and 12 before the selection shows for men's and women's soccer are scheduled for Monday, November 17 on NCAA.com.
