The Belmont Abbey baseball team defeated Mesa State 9-2 Wednesday night, avenging a 7-2 loss to the Mavericks on Saturday afternoon. The win eliminated Mesa State from the College World Series, as senior pitcher Andrew Morton limited the Mavericks to just two runs on seven hits while striking out nine batters.

Belmont Abbey advances to face Lynn University Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
