Women's Basketball Falls To Queens, 58-51

The Belmont Abbey women's basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped as it suffered a 58-51 defeat at the hands of the Queens Royals this evening at the Wheeler Center. The Abbey falls to 17-8 overall and 15-5 in Conference Carolinas, while Queens improves to 14-11 overall and 13-7 in Conference Carolinas.

The Abbey shot 36.5 percent (19-52) as Kala Nwachukwu and Kelsey Daniel both led the way with 11 points apiece. Daniel led all players with eight rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot in 27 minutes. Nwachukwu sank five of her seven field goal attempts and had two assists and a steal. Ashley Giddens led the Lady Crusaders with three assists and four steals.

Queens was led by Marissa Hudley's game-high 22 points, as she sanke eight of her nine field goal attempts, while pulling down four rebounds. Erin Goldner added 11 as the Royals shot 52.6 percent (20-38) from the field.
