Willis Lifts Belmont Abbey to 1-0 Win over North Greenville

BELMONT, N.C. -- Hannah Willis scored the game's only goal early in the second half and Ryleigh Dougherty posted her second straight clean sheet, leading Belmont Abbey to a 1-0 victory over North Greenville in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

With the win, the Crusaders improve to 3-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in both the league and Northwest Division.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Willis converted to the high center of the goal at the 50:31 mark of the game.
  • Haley Long and Kelcey Morris were credited with the assists.
  • Dougherty faces six shots overall, saving the two that were on target.
  • Overall, the Crusaders outshot the Trailblazers 19-6 overall and 11-2 on target.
  • Caroline Roche led The Abbey in shots with six, with Long adding five.
