BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey opened its 2026 women's volleyball home schedule Saturday with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) win over Conference Carolinas foe Erskine.
Renata Bolado tallied 12 kills, while
Taylor Marts hit .583 with eight kills against one error in 12 attempts.
With the win, the Crusaders improved to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Flying Fleet fall to 1-9, 0-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zoey Bradford, Tyler Case and Lola Sultenfuss added seven kills, each, while Katie Brookins had four.
- Emma Youngblood directed the offense with 32 assists and added six digs and a block assist.
- Sheridan Young led the team in digs with 18, while Mallory Swain added nine.
- Martz and Sultenfuss registered three blocks each with Case adding a pair.
- Belmont Abbey started the opening set slowly, with the score tied at 19-all. But the Crusaders tallied six straight points to take the frame, 25-19.
- The Crusaders turned in their best offensive set of the match in the second, hitting .308 with 16 kills and taking a 25-17 victory, then closed out the sweep with another strong offensive showing in the third set. They recorded 17 kills and hit .217 in the 25-16 victory.
