FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- Belmont Abbey scored three goals in the first five minutes, then answered an Emmanuel strike with 11 straight before halftime, lifting the Crusaders to a 25-7 victory over Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse action on Wednesday.
With the win, The Abbey improves to 11-3 overall and 7-0 in league play, while the Lions fall to 2-13, 1-6. BAC clinched no worse than a home game in the conference tournament quarterfinals with the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brendan Boschi scored eight goals and added three assists for a career-high 11 points. He took 11 shots with 10 on goal and gained five ground balls.
- Nate Lorenzo registered eight points on five goals and three assists. He led the team with 14 total shots (eight on goal).
- Garren Berkman (three) and Elliot Malcolm (two) had multiple-goal games with seven others finding the net.
- Michael Aber won 15 of 24 faceoffs and gained a team-best 12 ground balls.
- Eddie Kielkopf and Fynn Ziebarth split time in goal by half, making six and five saves, respectively.
- The Abbey took 68 shots overall with 48 on goal.
