SAINT CHARLES, Mo. -- Caden Day tallied nine kills and Belmont Abbey hit a season-high .386, but nationally-ranked Lindenwood earned a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) victory over the Crusaders in collegiate men's volleyball action Wednesday night.
The result dropped The Abbey to 10-4 on the season, while the Lions, which are tied for eighth in this week's AVCA Collegiate Men's Volleyball poll, improve to 15-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Day hit an incredible .614 with just one error in 13 attempts. He also had a service ace, three digs and a block solo.
- Jibriel Elhaddad and Joseph Morris both had five kills, hitting .571 and .500, respectively.
- Morris dished out 21 assists.
- Zach Puentes had the other of Belmont Abbey's three aces.
- TJ Neville led the defensive effort with five digs.
- The hitting percentage marked the ninth over .300 this season. The Crusaders had 28 kills against just six errors in 57 chances.
- Lindenwood connected at a .434 clip, the highest by an opponent all season. The Lions had just 12 errors with 45 kills in 76 attempts
