Lorenzo Tallies Career-Best Seven Goals as Crusaders Defeat UAH

BELMONT, N.C. — Belmont Abbey attacker Nate Lorenzo tallied a career-high seven goals and an assist as the Crusaders used a fast start en route to a 19-6 victory over Alabama Huntsville Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

The Crusaders scored the first five goals of the contest and held a 12-1 lead at halftime to secure the win.Connor Mann, Garrett Clare and Connor Brewington each had multi-goal games for the Abbey as well. Clare also had two assists as did Garren Berkman.

Eddie Kielkopf made four saves in goal in the first half while Fynn Ziebarth made nine saves in second half action.

With the win, Belmont Abbey is now 4-3 while UAH is 3-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Belmont Abbey was working well offensively as the first four Crusader goals had assists.
  • Lorenzo got the first goal followed by tallies from Xavier Miller and two from Clare.
  • The Crusaders led 6-1 after the first quarter.
  • Lorenzo added four more goals in the second quarter as the Crusaders extended the lead with six more goals.
  • Belmont Abbey added three more goals in the third, including two more from Lorenzo.
  • Mann's three goals all came in the fourth quarter while Davis Ogilvy scored his first goal as a Crusader to cap off the scoring.
  • Belmont Abbey out-shot UAH 46-36 and the Crusaders had 34 ground balls with five from Michael Aber.
  • Aber also went 15-of-22 on faceoffs.
