SALISBURY, N.C. -- Freshman
Logan Erickson tallied 23 kills and 11 digs for his first career double-double, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 20-25, 30-28) victory over Catawba in collegiate men's volleyball action Wednesday night.
With the win, the Crusaders improve to 2-0 with both wins over the Indians (2-3). Last week's two wins that split the home-and-home series were altered by weather.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Erickson hit .475 with just four errors in 40 attempts. He also served two aces and also had the final kill of the match.
- Caden Day added a career-high 18 kills on a .519 hitting percentage. He just missed a double-double with nine digs.
- Leyton Ritchie (5k-1e-9a/.444) and Jibriel Elhaddad (7k-2e.12a/.417) also topped .400 in hitting.
- Joseph Morris keyed the attack with 47 assists, while chipping in nine digs.
- Morris and Elhaddad registered four and three blocks, respectively.
- The Crusaders hit .331 (59k-20e-118a) as a team, while limiting the Indians to .238.
