BELMONT, N.C. -- Caden Day had 18 kills and Joseph Morris posted a double-double, but Barton rallied from a 2-1 set deficit to earn a thrilling 3-2 (17-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11) victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Friday night.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in league play while the Bulldogs improve to 5-7, 3-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Day hit .275 with 18 kills against seven errors in 40 attempts, while adding nine digs. He also registered two service aces, one assist and a block assist.
- Morris dished out 45 assists and had 11 digs for his third double-double of the season. He also added three block assists and four kills.
- Zach Puentes reached double figures in kills for the seventh time in his eight matches, tallying 15.
- Alejandro Leon spearheaded the defensive effort with 15 digs, while chipping in five assists.
- Belmont Abbey hit .204 in the contest but the Bulldogs topped .400 in the second set and again in the decider.
