WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Abe McNelly added a third-place finish in the pentathlon to his high jump victory last night to earn Freshman of the Year honors at 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship Monday. As a team, Belmont Abbey equaled its best team finish ever, third, with a school-record 84.5 points.
Josh Gulapa took second in the pentathlon with Kaleb Koelling earning bronze in the high jump.
The spring outdoor season begins next month.
