BELMONT, N.C. -- Three Crusaders reached double figures in kills Saturday night, helping Belmont Abbey to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-15) victory over King in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action at the Wheeler Center. The sweep was the first in eight matches this season for the CrusadersÂ
With the victory, The Abbey improves to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in league play while King falls to 3-6, 0-3.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Logan Erickson and Caden Day both tallied 11 kills while Zach Puentes added 10.
- Day hit a sizzling .563 with 11 kills against two errors in 16 chances. He had a block solo and three digs.
- Erickson connected at a .375 clip (11k-2e-24a), just missing a double-double with nine digs. He also recorded two assist and a block assists.
- Joseph Morris dished out 38 assists, four blocks and five digs.
- Luke Zelnis, who came into the third set late, had two kills on two swings. He also served both of the Crusaders aces.
- Belmont Abbey hit. .375 as a team, including a whopping .467 in the final set. It also held King to minus hitting in the second.
- In The Abbey's first seven matches this season, it went to five sets five times and four sets twice.

- Belmont Abbey continues its five-match homestand next weekend with a pair of Conference Carolinas matches.
- The Crusaders host Barton on Friday night and Mount Olive on Saturday.
