FRANKLIN SPRING, Ga. -- Alejandro Leon had a career-high 21 digs and two players reached double figures in kills, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-1 (25-13, 20-25, 25-18, 25-21) victory over Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Crusaders improve to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league p, while the Lions dropped to 3-6, 0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zach Puentes tallied 12 kills, hitting 222, in the contest. He registered five digs, one assist, one block assist and service ace.
- Jabriel Elhaddad also reached double figures with 10 kills, hitting 318, while leading the team with five blocks.
- Leon's 21 digs were the third-most in school history and second-most in a four-set match.
- Joseph Morris let the offense with 34 assists while adding five digs and two block assists
- Gabriel Nejad made his first appearance of the season, tallying seven assists.
- Belmont Abbey hit .211 as a team, compared to Emmanuel's .123.
