BELMONT, N.C. -- Brendan Boschi scored four goals, but Catawba held off a late Belmont Abbey rally for a 13-12 victory over the Crusaders in collegiate men's lacrosse action Saturday morning. The Abbey had trailed 9-4 before tying the game at 12-12. The Indians scored the game-winner with 5:45 to play, 30 second after the equalizer.
With the result, Belmont Abbey falls to 1-1, while Catawba improves to 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boschi, who tallied the game-tying goal, added an assist for five points. He added four ground balls and a caused turnover. He also led the team in shots (10) and shots on goal (8).
- Nate Lorenzo scored twice on five shots on goal, while six ven other players also found the net.
- Jeremy Mahoney dished out two assists with his goal for three points, while Jack Clough had a goal and an assist for two points.
- Michael Aber posted a team-high six ground balls, while winning 18 of 28 faceoffs.
- Eddie Kielkoph had 11 saves in net, playing 57:36 in net.
- The contest was the first on campus this year as the scheduled home opener last weekend was moved to Wingate, N.C. due to weather.

- Belmont Abbey returns to action next Saturday at Montevallo.
- The action will mark the first true road game for the Crusaders.
