BELMONT, N.C. -- Senior Caden Day tallied a career-high 19 kills -- hitting .424 in the process -- leading Belmont Abbey to a thrilling 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17, 15-9) victory over Erskine in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Wednesday night. The five-set match was the third in four outings this season.
The win, which came in the conference opener for both teams, keeps Belmont Abbey undefeated at 4-0, while the Flying Fleet fall to 3-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Day had just five errors in 33 chances and has topped double figures in kills in all four matches of 2026. He added five digs and a block assists.
- Jibriel Elhaddad reached double figures in kills for the first time this season with 14. He had just two errors in 16 attempts for a .750 hitting percentage and added five blocks and two digs.
- Joseph Morris dished out 48 assists, while tallying seven digs and seven blocks (one solo).
- As a team, the Crusaders hit a season-high .375 to overcome 27 service errors.
