BELMONT, N.C. -- Alhousseny Diallo posted team highs in both points and rebounds, but a hot-shooting second half led North Greenville to a 70-56 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 5-6 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the Trailblazers improve to 6-5, 4-2. The teams are 3-1 and 2-1, respectively, in the Northwest Division.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Diallo finished the contest with 16 points and five rebounds. He hit eight of nine from the field.
- Gabe Cerda was the only other Crusader in double figures with 10 points.
- Judah Ravenell dished out a team-best five assists, while matching Diallo at five rebounds.
- The Crusaders shot just 41.8 percent overall from the field (23 of 55), while NGU connected at a 44.3 percent clip, but hit 55.6 percent after intermission.
- The Trailblazers held a 40-26 rebounding margin and forced one more turnover (eight to seven)..
