BELMONT, N.C. --
Gabe Cerda and Frankin Davis topped double figures in scoring, but Chowan hit 14 three-pointers, leading to a 90-69 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
With the result, The Abbey falls to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in league play, while the Hawks improve to 9-9, 7-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cerda tallied 16Â points, hitting a pair of three-pointers.He also made all six of his free throw attempts.
- Davis added 14 points, also knocking down a pair of threes, while adding three rebounds,
- Freshman Liberty Fusire grabbed a career-best and team-high five rebounds, while Elijah Burnett dished out five assists,
- Chowan hit 14 of 29 three-pointers (48.3 percent), including nine of 17 before intermission. Overall, the Hawks hit 50.8 percent (33 of 65) from the field.
