BELMONT, N.C. -- Joseph Morris had a double-double of 39 assists and 17 digs and Belmont Abbey twice rallied from a set down to earn a thrilling 3-2 (22-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 15-10) victory over Catawba in collegiate men's volleyball action Thursday night.
The win came in the season opener for the Crusaders while the Indians fall to 1-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Morris also finished the contest with three kills, five blocks and a service ace.
- Caden Day posted a team-high 17 kills, hitting .237, while Zach Puentes added 15 kills.
- Freshman Logan Erickson made his debut with 12 kills and a team-best .281 percentage.
- Jibriel Elhaddad was the blocks leader with eight (seven assists), while Ritchie Layton chipped in five.
- Belmont Abbey hit .192 as a team, including .350 (8k-1e-20a) in the deciding set.
