SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Tori Thompson led Belmont Abbey at the Converse Kick-off Friday evening, posting a time of 22:10.3 in over the 5k course at Miliken Park. She finished 51st overall, six seconds and five places ahead of teammate Annika Deveau.

As a team, the Crusaders were 11th, despite competed without their top two runners.

The Crusaders return to action next Friday at the Queen City Invitational. The meet is hosted by Queens at McAlpine Park.
