BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Belmont Abbey placed three players in double figures for kills, while six reached the mark in digs, but King rallied for a tight 3-2 (19-25, 25-21, 15-25, 27-25, 16-14) decision over King in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Tuesday night.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in league play, while the Tornado improve to 5-7, 3-2. The teams are 1-1 and 1-2 in Northwest Division play, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Renata Bolado posted her third straight double-double -- seventh overall -- with 15 kills and 28 digs, both team highs. She hit .375 (15k-3e-32a), while adding six service aces and an assist. The ace total ranks tied for sixth in the school's record book.
- Lola Sultenfuss hit .387 with just one error against 13 kills in 31 swings. She registered two block assists and two digs.
- Chloe Lowder also posted 13 kills, chipping in three block assists.
- Emma Youngblood earned her fifth double-double and third straight with 48 assists and 11 digs, while Kyleigh Coghlan chipped in three aces and 16 digs.
- Other double-digit digit totals came from Sheridan Young (14), Mallory Swain (11) and Maya Swenson (10). As a team, the Crusaders registered 100 overall, eighth-most in school history.
