BELMONT, N.C. -- Katie Brookins led four players with double-figure kills with a career-high 17 and added four blocks, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-2 (23-25, 25-22, 25-15, 17-25, 15-8) victory over Barton in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Friday night. Renato Bolado and Emma Youngblook each posted double-double as the Crusaders improved to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in league play.
Barton falls to 3-8, 0-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brookins topped her previous best of 15 kills on three occasions, including earlier this year against Lock Haven. She hit .224 with six errors in 49Â chances.
- Bolado hit .278 with 14 kills and 14 digs, for her fourth double-double of the campaign. She also served an ace.
- Lola Sultenfuss registered 12 kills, while Chloe Lowder tallied 10. They each topped a .300 hitting percentage at .360 and .308, respectively.
- Youngblood's double-double -- her third of the year -- came with 49 assists and 14 digs.
- The Crusaders registered a season-high 11.5 blocks as a team with Lowder reaching six. Sultenfuss matched Brookins at four.
- Maya Swenson served three aces and had seven digs.
