BELMONT, N.C. -- Chloe Lowder hit .688, scoring a team-high 15.0 points, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21) sweep of Ferrum in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action Wednesday night. The match served as the Crusaders' home opener after playing the first nine matches on the road.

With the win, The Abbey improves to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in league play, while the Panthers -- in their first year in Division II and in Conference Carolinas -- fall to 2-6, 0-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lowder tallied a team-high 12 kills against just one error in 17 chances. The performance marked the fourth time this season in double figures for kills. She also led the team in blocks with five (one solo, four assists).
• Renata Bolado posted 11 kills, the sixth time she has eclipsed the double figures.
• As a team, the Crusaders hit .242, while limiting Ferrum to a .112 clip. After a slow start in the first set (.098), Belmont Abbey put together attack percentages of .312 and .385 in the next two.
• Emma Youngblood was credited with 36 assists, four digs and three service aces.
• Defensively, Mallory Swain registered eight digs, while also matching the team-high best in aces with three.
• Cailyn Myers and Sheridan Young added six digs each.
