CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Tori Thompson ran the 5k McAlpine Creek Park course in a time of 21:36.4 to lead Belmont Abbey at the Queen City Invitational Friday evening. The meet, hosted by Queens, featured all levels of NCAA and NAIA schools.

Wake Forest was the team winner with the top two runners across the line. The Crusaders placed 19th.

Belmont Abbey returns to action next Saturday at Wingate's Bulldog Invitational. The event is run on the same course as the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional in November.
