4/23/2025 1:05:00 PM

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Head coach Molly Kopp and freshman attack Addyson Greenspan were named Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively, as the league office unveiled the full all-conference teams Wednesday.

In addition to the superlatives, a total of eight Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse student-athletes earned all-conference honors.

Two Crusaders —Olivia Carlino and Triniti Cassidy — were named on the first team. Elizabeth Hommel, Kacey Kubarewicz, Caitlyn Marone all earned second-team honors while Katelyn Miller, Greenspan and Summer Eddinger were named to the third team.

The teams were voted on by the league's head coaches.

Kopp was named Coach of the Year for the second time in the last three years. She earned the honor after leading the Crusaders to a share of the regular season title for the first time in program history and top seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Crusaders are 9-8 overall and 7-1 in league play.

Greenspan, a freshman attack from Delafield, Wisconsin, made a strong impact in her first year as a Crusader. She started every game for the Crusaders this season and finished with 22 goals and nine assists for the Abbey. She is the fourth Crusader in program history to earn freshman of the year honors and the first since Olivia Carlino back in 2022.

Carlino, a senior attack from Campbell, California, was named to the first team for the second time in her career and earned her third all-conference honor overall. She led the team in goals (47) and assists (20) and was second on the team in caused turnovers (14). She had two seven-goal games this season and had an 11-point game against Shorter back on April 12th.

Cassidy was named to the all-conference team as a midfielder and is an all-conference selection for the second straight year. The sophomore from Snellville, Georgia was a key part of the Belmont Abbey offense by tallying 46 goals and 10 assist. She also had 13 caused turnovers and 57 draw controls on the season.

Hommel becomes the latest Crusader to become a four-time all-conference selection. The senior defender from Carle Place, New York finished the regular season with 13 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Kubarewicz is making her second appearance on the all-conference team after earning a third-team selection last season. The senior from Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey led Belmont Abbey with 74 draw controls on the season while tallying nine goals and three assists.

Marone is on the all-conference team for the first time and started 15 games for the Crusaders this season. The sophomore from Flanders, New Jersey finished the regular season with 14 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.

Miller earned her second straight all-conference honor at attack. The sophomore from Savannah, Georgia was third on the team with 42 goals and seven assists. She also had 10 free-position goals, second only to Cassidy. She is one of two attackers to earn a third-team spot along with Greenspan.

Eddinger made her way on to the all-conference team for the third straight year. The junior from Fallston, Maryland has played every minute for Belmont Abbey, making 114 saves on the season. She had three games with double-digit saves and led the team with 45 ground balls.

Belmont Abbey is the top seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament and returns to action in the semfinals Friday against No. 4/5 seed Young Harris/North Greenville at 4:45 p.m. Friday in Mount Olive, N.C.
