BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey hit .363 with a season-high 59 kills and made 13 blocks, leading the Crusaders to a 3-1 (26-24, 25-18, 23-25, 25-20) victory over Catawba in men's college volleyball action Wednesday night.
The result, which came in the final non-conference action of the season, brings The Abbey's record to 13-8. The Indians fall to 12-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zach Puentes tallied 18 kills, hitting .485 (two errors in 33 attempts), while serving two aces and making four digs. He also had six block assists.
- Ryan Charles established a new career high with 12 kills against three kills in 20 chances (.450). He tied for the team lead in digs with six.
- Joseph Morris dished out 51 assists, tied for the second-most in a four-set match in school history. He had three kills, two blocks and four digs.
- Garrett Hockman registered eight blocks with Jibriel Elhaddad adding four. As a team, there were 24 block assists to go along with a solo block by Charles.
- Christian Rodriguez also tallied six digs to share the team high.
