WEST MONROE, La. -- Less than eight months becoming Belmont Abbey's first-ever female national champion in cycling,
Rita Fedewa captured another national title, winning the USA Cycling National Collegiate BMX Championship. Back in September, she won the 500m Time Trial at the Track Championship.
The competion took place over two days, with Fedewa winning both days to secure the title. It was the first BMX national title for Belmont Abbey. As a team, the Crusaders took third overall, the highest-ever finish in BMX and a first for any discipline under head coach
Nat Worcester.
Other members of the team included
Sierra McDaniel (15th individually), Kaylyn Miller (18th), Danielle Fuster (19th) andÂ
Kailani Smith (20th).
On the men's side, Zack Drinkard placed 13th in that national championship.Â
