MONROE, N.C. and THOMASVILLE, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's golf team completed a full day on the course as the Crusaders sent two teams each to two tournaments Monday.

The A and B teams completed two rounds of play at the Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe while the C and D teams played 18 holes at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville.

At the Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate, the Crusaders were led by Max Newton, who opened with a 76 before closing with a 2-under par 70. He had the low round of the day for Belmont Abbey and was 4-under par on the back nine of the second round. Eduardo Arango had the low first round with an even-par 72. The B team put together four consistent scores with Connor Rose and Dylan Reiser opening with rounds of 1-over par 73 while Evan Eassy and Teagan Mauro were just one shot back with a 74. Eassy finished the second round with another and leads the B team with a two-round total of 148.

After 36 holes, the Belmont Abbey A and B teams are 12th and 13th, respectively. 

At the Pfeiffer Colonial Shootout, Brodie Perry led the way for Belmont Abbey with an opening round 77 and is tied for 12th after the opening round. He was one of three Crusaders to shot rounds in the 70s along with Jack Crawford (79) and Seth Hopkinson (79), who led the way for the D team.

After the opening day of play, Belmont Abbey's two teams were 10th and tied for 12th, respectively.
