ELON, N.C. --Â Three Crusaders posted two Conference Carolinas Championship qualifying marks and five other are guaranteed entry into the April event, highlighting Belmont Abbey's season-opening performance at the Phoenix Invitational, hosted by Elon on Friday.Â
Dayzhaun Gooding-Williams bested the standard in both the long jump and the triple jump, while
Jeremiah Hines qualified in the 100m and 200m dashes. Freshman
Jake Legato surpassed the minimum times in both the 800m and 1500m runs.
Others who reach their respective qualifying times or marks include
Garison Coleman (200m),
Jesse Coleman (800m),
Clinton Hubbard (1500m),
Kelly Hay (pole vault) and
Davis Powers (shot put).
Belmont Abbey returns to the track next week at the 49er Classic, hosted by UNC Charlotte.
