BELMONT, N.C. -- Mikey Sweigart rifled a shot home off the post 1:40 into overtime, lifting Belmont Abbey to a 7-6 thrilling victory over Montevallo in men's college lacrosse action Saturday morning. The goal, capped a rally that saw the Crusaders rally from deficits of 4-1 early in the second quarter and 6-5 with just over five minutes left in regulation.

With the result, The Abbey improved to 2-2 overall, while the Falcons fall to 4-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jack Clough and Jacob Chandler scored two goals each, while Quinn Smith and Jeremy Mahoney joined Sweigart with single tallies.
• Mahoney registered an assist for two points, while Garrett Clare chipped in a helper as well.
• Ben Johnson and Jordan Brown grabbed three ground balls each, while Alex Garcia caused three turnovers.
• Christian Tomei made 17 saves in goal, while leading the team with seven ground balls.
