BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey took on fourth-ranked Hawaii at a packed Wheeler Center Thursday night with the Rainbow Warriors pulling out a 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-23) victory over the Crusaders. A raucous crowd 1,145 witnessed the action.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 6-6, while UH improves to 10-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zach Puentes led the offensive attack with nine kills, while Garrett Hockman and Ryan Charles added five each.
- Puentes made three digs and four blocks (two solo)
- Joseph Morris dished out 21 assists, while adding four digs. He also served the team's only ace.
- Charles was the team leader in digs with five. He also registered five kills and had two assists.
UP NEXT
- Belmont Abbey returns to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday at North Greenville, the first of six straight matches away from home.
- The contest will be a rematch of the 2024 Conference Carolinas Championship final, won by the Crusaders.
