BELMONT, N.C. -- Jibriel Elhaddad tallied eight kills and four digs, but Mount Olive came away with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-15) victory over Belmont Abbey in a battle of team atop the early Conference Carolinas men's volleyball standings.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Trojans improve to 7-2, 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elhaddad hit .357 with eight kills against three errors in 14 attempts. His dig total was his season high, while he also added a block solo.
- Zach Puentes tallied seven kills and had three digs with Caden Day knocking down five.
- Matthew Staskunas served both of the Crusaders' aces, while registering four kills and no errors (19 attempts/.211). He also matched the team high for digs with four.
- Joseph Morris dished out 23 assists and made a team-best four blocks.
- Garrett Hockman did also not have an error, with kills on five of his seven swings.
- Libero Alejandro Leon tallied four digs and two assists.
