Dionte Alexander topped 20 points for the third time in four games and two other players reached double figures, but Francis Marion rallied for a 76-70 victory over Belmont Abbey Saturday in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 11-15 overall and 0-13 in league play. The Patriots improve to 8-12, 6-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alexander scored 22 points, shooting 7-of-11 overall and 5-of-7 from three-point range. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out a team-high five rebounds.
- Jordan Patton chipped in 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots, while Khamani Wertz connected on five three-pointers en route to 15 points.
- Judah Sault grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
- Belmont Abbey shot 54.2 percent (13 of 24) from the field in the opening half, its fourth-best 20 minutes of the season.
